Hula hula ! Songkran

We are ready for Songkran

We had full of weapons and provisions. We were ready to go to the water war. It was a good day. 14 April 2006 We had an appointment with the mountain and the beach. The van and the driver are arrived on time 6:30 am. Our destination is Chantaburi 254 km. from Bkk. What a charming province!!! There is a lot of the interessting place. Mountain, Beah, Orchard, Water fall, forest, Precious stones etc... Tonight we will sleep at Khao Soi Dao. Soi Dao is a district of Chantaburi province. The most popular tourist attraction is Khao Soi Dao Waterfall, which comprises of 16 tiers: the highest one near the peak and the lowest one at the starting point of the climb. But we can't reach to it. From this peak run many streams and rivers which create the perfect habitats for birds and butterflies

we paid for a house just 800 baht a night which 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom and one refrigerator as you see in the picture. Everything seems to be perfect if there is no gecko; walk all night on the ceiling and the wall.

and the day after we went to the beach "Chao lao" we reached there at the afternoon. We had lunch at the beach with all is seafood. Today, there are lot of people. We enjoied playing with the children. Here, we stayed at the Guesthouse named "Bann Tawa Ron" 500 baht a night with aircon and TV. Don't be wondering where we splashed water. We stoped at the big petrol station to play and fill up the water.

OmPai ,The school is behide 100 mountains

16 Feb 2006 If someone asks me where we can see the most beautiful stars? I will answer immediately « OmPai » OmPai is the school where located at Mae Sariang district province of Mae Hong Son in the north of my beautiful country Thailand (Behide a lot of mountains). I don’t know how many kilometres from BKK to Mae Sariang. I took the bus from BKK to Mae Sariang; it’s all night 12 hrs. After that we rent the motor cycle, we drove about 46 kilometres on the highway and 34 on the small road to OmPai. Myriam used to be volunteer there for one year. Before we reached to the school she stopped the motor cycle and pointed to the village and the school where we can see just a small light; she told us that her first time here, the old volunteer who was previous, pointed there and told her that she will be there for one year. OmPai is the village of Karen (Lawa) there are 300 students; some stay at the dome and some go home every day. There is no electricity. It’s far from the town. There are just only children and Thai teacher. In the winter; it’s very cool! At night you will sleep underneath the sky; it will cover you which all the stars!

She was the teacher here; taught French and took care the children (We’ve been giving the scholarships for the children here) for me she had the big heart of volunteer. Our association called the volunteer that “bambou” (which mean Bamboo) I think, if you are bamboo; you need to be very patient and strong as bamboo. That’s the meaning! Sometimes I’ve been to work with them out of BKK.I found that It does not to easy to talk with the people who speak in different language, try to understand what the people want because we want to help them and face of the weather as the Asiatic. The food is not like bread, too much taste; too sweet, too spicy, too sour, too salty ect. This is a part of their work.

For Myraim when the first time i saw her. We used international language to communicate. (She is France, I’m Thai) but now, she speaks Thai fluent. After one year at Ompai…I thought, she learns many things from there, especially our tradition! She is the one who eat spicy Thai food! She asked me; how I found OmPai? (j’aime bien! Mais……) I like it but… I have small heart more than her I prefer to stay in BKK, C’est mieux!
PS. Now Myriam decided to stay one more year in Thailand, to take care of the project (travelling a lot in Southeast of Asia)
Next trip is in the south of Thailand!

Peaceful at Koh Pitak

I'm sure that when you hear Koh Pitak, the first question is "where it is?" it's the south of Thailand province Chumporn, district Langsuan. When you reach to the bus station or train station at Amphur Luangsuan. It's about 20 Km. from there to the pier, by boat just 5 minutes to Koh Pitak

I went there by bus...Started from Southern bus station (Sai Tai Mai) The best schedule is 10:00 pm. It's about 7 hrs. (BKK to Langsuan) You will reache there with the dawn. One most of my good memory....every moring the children who live there need to take the boat to go to school (on the Island doesn't have school, there are 40 habitants)

It's the fisherman's island. And they welcome the tourist as "Homestay". So lovely to eat a local food! Such a good hoilday, when i was there, just only me no other tourist ! I walked around Koh alone. It's really good holiday. if you just want to take rest with the nature. I had an excellent holiday. There are also the activites such as fishing, diving and do nothing. I prefered the last one!!!!!
